As parents, we all want the best for our children, and it’s only natural to help them nurturing their martial arts excellence. But let’s avoid pushing them towards an unattainable idea of perfection, as it can have unintended consequences, especially when they face setbacks.
Instead, let’s foster a culture of excellence. Our core philosophy revolves around ‘excellence through martial arts.’ Here are some valuable lessons we instill in our young learners, which you can also promote at home:
Ironically, the path to perfection is not in striving for it directly but in doing everything with excellence. Absolute perfection remains elusive, but excellence is well within your child’s grasp with focus, dedication, and hard work. We are committed to nurturing martial arts excellence in your child.

Imagine a mum, sleep-deprived and coffee in hand, watching her child jump on the couch with boundless energy. The clock says 5am. ☀️ How do parents, especially those craving that extra hour of sleep, handle such enthusiasm?
Here’s a tip: create a ‘Morning Activities Box’. Fill it with quiet toys or puzzles.
The rule? Until the clock shows a certain time, only toys from this box are allowed. It might just buy you those precious minutes of rest (or at least a hot cup of coffee)!
Martial Arts teaches us just how beneficial re-directing energy can be. Practice this tip at home and become a martial arts Zen master yourself! ☕️😅

Our children are not just learning from books, but from everyone around them.
From classmates to teachers to their instructors here at The Academy of CKD, every interaction is an opportunity for growth.
Remind your young ones to remain open, curious, and always eager to learn from others.
